PhotoWiz ColorWasher — is a plugin for correcting the colors, contrast, exposure and saturation of 8bit and 16bit photos. It is a Photoshop-compatible plugin which can be used in many graphics applications, e.g. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop Elements, PhotoImpact, Photo-Paint, Fireworks, IrfanView, under Windows as well as MacOS X. It also runs natively in Photoshop CS3 on Intel-Macs.
ColorWasher features a wide range of automatic, semi-automatic and manual tools for correcting, enhancing and restoring photos. It is very easy to use as it offers interactive explanations and hints for each feature, incorporates an Easy Mode and detailed step-by-step instructions in the manual.
ColorWasher lets you do professional photo corrections within seconds and also offers a Cloak mode for processing dozens of images very quickly.
ColorWasher can be used on digital photos as well as scanned photos. It even achieves great results on old and faded photos. But you can also use ColorWasher to enhance web graphics, drawings, cartoons, paintings or screen shots. ColorWasher is also recommended for photos in RAW format. Some RAW converters don’t produce perfect color correction results, so after the RAW files have been converted you can still apply ColorWasher to enhance the result.
Moreover, if you want to create artistic and stylish color or b/w effects, ColorWasher lets you correct photos and apply impressive color effects in one step.
ColorWasher is revolutionary algorithms help you to turn even the worst photo into a delightful visual experience. Unlike other tools ColorWasher contains seven sophisticated methods called Cast Types for reconstructing lost colors and details in photos. What`s new in 2.03 (october 2008):
* DEP Compatibility: Even if Data Execution Protection (DEP) is activated in the Windows Control Panel, ColorWasher still works.
* ColorWasher now supports the Photoshop memory management.
* Improved compatibility with some applications, e.g. color dialogs now work in GIMP and PhotoBrush and preview scrolling now works in SignLab and Image Analyzer.
* Some controls on the ColorWasher dialog were changed to bring it in line with the other PhotoWiz plugins
* The Easy Mode check box was turned into a Mode combo box and placed at the top
* The Open, Save and Undo buttons were removed and are now items of the new arrow-down button menu at the top
* The Instant Preview check box was moved to the Prefs tab sheet
* The Apply B/W combo box on Prefs tab sheet was turned into a B/W Before Correction check box.
* A new Auto Preview check box was added at the bottom left corner.
* You can now only move the window by dragging the title bar.
* The red mouseover effect was removed.
* The language files are now stored within the plugin itself. This avoids problems with unacessible language files.
* The the .ini files are now saved in the user’s application data folder in case the folder of the ColorWasher plugin is not accessible. This avoids problems with restricted user permissions.
* Bug Fix: Opening a preset file does not change the dialog language anymore.
* Bug Fix: After maximizing the window (by double clicking the ColorWasher logo), exiting and running ColorWasher again, it was not possible to minimize the window (by double clicking the ColorWasher logo). It works now.
* Bug Fix: Exiting the plugin with the ESC key does not cause a messed up dialog anymore when running the plugin again.
* The Manual was updated.
* New multilingual installation
* The Plugin Installer now supports several new compatible applications (e.g. PhotoFiltre Studio, Zoner PhotoStudio, PhotoPerfect, HeliconFilter, Photobie). It is now available in German language and correctly installs plugins into the German version of Photoshop CS2, CS3 and CS4.
